About Me
My online presence has changed and grown with me through the years. I started out in business online as a jewelry artist (Dainty Jewelry), and I am still a jewelry artist at heart. I even have several finished pieces on Etsy (Dainty Jewelry by Tonya). However, decorating has always been a passion of mine. I remember the first time my parents allowed me to decorate my room myself. I had so much FUN. My mom and I were both surprised at the outcome. I was pretty good.

A couple of years ago, I teamed up with a dear friend that is an amazing furniture artist. We ended up having several booth spaces (we coined them our "boothiques") together in Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, and Raleigh. We enjoyed every minute of it! We decided to grow our offering to include retailing furniture paint and other artist supplies. I got to explore and learn...expanding my skills. It has greatly enriched my life. I find so much joy and satisfaction in designing home furnishings and reimagining furniture in a way that is unique and special for my clients.

But then...COVID-19. It seems that the world is forever changed. What's the adage..."What doesn't kill you...makes you stronger." I think the pandemic has reminded the whole world of what is most important in life. My faith, my family/friends, and helping others are my priorities. I had to step back from having retail space. My husband and I have a young daughter, so keeping her safe and educated took way more time and energy. But I feel a deep inner peace for doing so. I can't be happy without being creative. Therefore, I continue my artistic expression and work here as Tranquil Brushes. I have had a steady stream of custom job requests come in. THANK YOU for that. It has helped me transition to doing commissioned work, and I love it.
